The time has come! Alpha is beginning THIS week! It is not too late to register. If there is anyone you’d like to invite, here are the details below:

Alpha is a great place for unbelieving friends and family to come and ask questions and explore the Christian faith without fear of judgement.

It will be starting 7:30PM on Wednesday, 17th May at the Songs (contact Richard for the address).

Our Pastor Riley and Pastor Dave from Sovereign Grace Wahroonga will be in Liberia this week to serve at their Sovereign Grace Pastor’s Academy. They will be teaching on church planting in partnership as mother-daughter church plants in the hopes that they too would enjoy the fruit of being a part of a family of churches, not just globally, but locally as well.

Please be praying for them; that the Lord would sustain and empower them as they endeavour to serve faithfully and in a way that honours the Lord and builds up His church.

Registrations for Together ‘23 are still open! This is a friendly reminder to register if you’ve yet to do so.

The aim of Together is to gather with both of our churches, and friends of our churches, here in Australia for a weekend of fellowship, worship, and making memories together!

Together 2023 will be running from July 21-23 and will be held at the Collaroy Centre in Narrabeen.

This year our theme is: ‘Zealous for the Name of Christ’ where we’ll be discussing the often forgotten virtue of Godly zeal. We will have the privilege of having a special guest from the U.S. join us, Jeff Purswell. He will explain what Godly zeal is and then apply it to various areas of our lives so that we will live all for the name of Christ.

Our next Baby Dedications are coming up on Sunday the 28th May. If you are planning on dedicating your child on this day, this a great time to invite family and friends to church. For the rest of us, it’s a great time to welcome new faces and exude the love of Christ to all who come through our doors.

We will be dedicating a few children to the Lord on this day and are looking forward to celebrating the growth of our church through these little ones.

As part of his studies with Alphacrucis College, Ben Duckitt is putting on a performance here at Sovereign Grace Parramatta this Sunday. We will be having a night of worship thinking about the cross where him and a band will be leading us in singing eight of his own compositions and five songs that we sing regularly at church. Everyone in the church is invited!

Life Groups are on this week!

Life Groups are so vital for us as a Church as they allow us to take the joy of Sunday and work out in smaller communities where we can know each other more deeply and help each other out more personally. We hope that this time together with your group blesses you!

As many of you know, this past week, we had the privilege of having Bob Kauflin and David Zimmer from Sovereign Grace Music out in Australia to run a Worship Matters Intensive for worship leaders from all across Sydney. We also had applicants fly in from Perth, the Philippines and Japan!

It was a tremendous three days filled with teaching, worship and the fostering of new friendships. Over the course of the intensive, Bob taught on what God’s Word says about music and singing as a form of worship and how to best serve our congregations in this sphere. Each applicant also had the opportunity to lead a set to be reviewed by Bob, David and the other applicants. Overall, it was a time of encouragement, teaching, building up and the equipping of saints for the work of ministry in each of their local churches.

We are so grateful to Bob and David for giving up their time and efforts to serve these men and in turn, their churches.

We just wanted to take a moment to thank Jordan for her faithful service in her role as bookkeeper of our church for this past year. Much of what she did happened behind the scenes and went unnoticed, but was integral to the life of our church. Jordan has recently stepped down from the role to focus her attention on her full time job. We thank God for you, Jordan!

We are also excited to announce that Sammy Commerford has kindly offered to step into the role of bookkeeper going forward. If you have any bookkeeping enquiries or need any reimbursements etc., you can contact Sammy at sammy@sgparra.org.au.

We are so grateful for the Lord’s ongoing provision of all our needs and for continuing to build His church.

This Sunday, we will be celebrating Mother’s Day at SG Parra! We look forward to joining with you in honouring the mothers and mother figures within our community and thanking God for them! This is also a great opportunity to invite family and friends along to our service.

This Sunday, we will be inducting our newest members into SG Parra! This is always an exciting week as we get to see and celebrate how the Lord is building His church! We can’t wait to welcome these brothers and sisters with warmth, joy and the love of Christ. We look forward to seeing you there!
