It was so good to once again join us with SG Wahroonga last Friday night for a Thanksgiving meal with the singles from both churches. We had 25 of us sitting down for dinner and fellowship and a time of Thanksgiving! We thank God for these men and women from both our churches and look forward to continually meeting with and walking alongside one another!
One of the questions that we sometimes get asked as Pastors is, “How possible is it to change Life Groups?” And the answer we always give is, “Very possible!!”
For a whole variety of reasons, folk sometimes want to move Life Groups and so we just thought we’d drop you a note saying you are welcome to approach your Life Group leader or the pastoral team about this if you have been considering a change. End of year is often a good time to make this decision if you’re thinking this way, so please just let us know and we will see what we can do.
It’s Ladies Growth Groups this week! Your LG leader will have all the details you need.
This is just a reminder that we will be having our monthly Prayer and Praise night in lieu of Life Groups NEXT week.
When: 7:30PM, Thursday 5th December
Where: Iron St Hall (27 Iron St, North Parramatta)
We will be spending our time in worship through song and in corporate prayer. All are welcome to this event - wherever you may be in your prayer life! We look forward to seeing you there!
We had a fantastic time in the US for the Annual Pastors and Wives Conference. Maddie and I travelled to Charlotte to visit Mike and Sarah Pasalich, who helped pioneer and plant Sovereign Grace Wahroonga, as they are now at Crossway Community Church, a Sovereign Grace Church in the Charlotte area. This church was actually planted in part by Bob Kauflin in the 90’s! It was a joy to see them and to preach at their church, you can hear my message by clicking the link above. We then went to Orlando and met with Louis, Richie, and Joel Seric, as well as the Wahroonga crew. Over the week we had the annual Council of Elders where important denominational updates and decisions are made. We had 5 powerful sessions over the conference, as well as so many meetings and catch ups.
If you would like to listen to the messages and breakout sessions, they are all here: https://www.sovereigngrace.com/2024-pastors-conference-resources . They will all bless you!

As announced on Sunday, we will be launching The Bridge Course at Sovereign Grace Parramatta from next February!
The Bridge Course is a 10 week opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a fun and relaxed way. Each week begins with a meal, followed by a talk that addresses common questions about life and God. Afterwards, there's a small group conversation, where participants can ask questions or sit back and listen. There's no pressure, and no one will be forced to believe anything. And the whole thing is free!
We would love for you to start praying for people you could invite to the course next year.
RSVPs can be made at here.
Men’s Growth Groups are on this week! Your LG leaders will let you know all the details.

He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but you do justice, and to love kindness
and to walk humbly with your God?’

During our last Prayer and Praise night we spent some time as a church praying for our nation and praying against abortion in our country. Currently, Australian children can be killed from conception to 22 weeks or even up to birth, depending on the state. Babies born alive after a failed abortion are not allowed to receive life-saving care and are left to die.
Opening the conversation about abortion is hard and often feels like a taboo topic. It can be difficult to know what we can do or say in our communities—especially if we work in health care—when abortion is so celebrated in our culture.
On 30 November, a pro-life day called Life Summit will be held in the CBD with the aim to equip us for these conversations and learn what we can do. This summit is being coordinated by an Australian lawyer called Joanna Howe, who has been standing up against abortion for a couple of years now. Some of you may have been following her recent fight to pass a bill in Adelaide that protects the lives of babies after 28 weeks and allows them to be put up for adoption instead of being killed. This bill lost by only 1 vote. Approximately 3,000 citizens turned up to support the bill, highlighting that many people are engaged and desire change.
A few people have already signed up to this event, and I would like to invite you and encourage you to prayerfully consider if you can join us as we seek to become better equipped to be a voice for the voiceless. Details below.
