A recap from Richard Song:
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found, was blind but now I see.
These were the words a group of us sang as we ended our first walk-up session on Sunday. These words reminded us that we all were once dead in our trespasses, but by the grace of God, were made alive in Christ. This amazing reality is the ultimate truth, and there are countless people in Parramatta who have yet to hear it.
I’ll be honest, on Sunday, most of us were nervous and fearful of going out, but by God’s grace, we went out anyway, in the hopes that the Lord might use us mightily in our weakness. And though the fears remained, it propelled our souls to pray as we went out.
As we did, the Holy Spirit opened up opportunities for us to reach out and speak with some people who were willing to listen (and also with some who weren’t!). However, we found much assurance in the reality that it is ‘… only God who gives growth.’ (1 Corinthians 3:6)
It is our prayer that we might continue to entrust all our missional endeavours to God alone, and as we do, that He would provide the boldness to step out in faith and continue to share the good news with those whom we encounter.
Walk up will continue to occur each Sunday leading up to Easter (31 March). We would love for you to come and join us!
