SG Wahroonga is running the following Zoom event! From Pastor Patrick:
“Dads & Mums, can I ask you a question?
Is there a “right way” to train your children?
We live in a time where we have a myriad of competing voices recommending so many ideas. What about for you as a couple, do you agree with how to ‘train’ your child(en)?
We’d love to engage in an Honest Conversation where we share stories, look at God’s Word and interact with a panel.
Before the night, if you could read this article: Parenting Is Like Jazz, and if you can read chapter 8 in Paul Tripp’s book, ‘Parenting’; entitled ‘Authority’, it will position you well for the night. If you don’t have chapter 8 please email me at pc@sovgrace.org.au & I can send you a copy of the chapter.
Your Life Group Leaders will have the ZOOM code, if you’d like to join us please contact them. Looking forward to seeing you on Zoom next Friday evening!
Growth Groups will be in person this week or on Zoom if you are unwell.
Speak with your LG leader for more details!
What a joy it was to regather physically as a church on Sunday at JBrewers! It was awesome to have a venue and to see a number of new visitors! ! I want to say a big thank you to all who helped pull it off at such short notice! We missed all of you who couldn’t make it as well.
The sermon text was Matthew 28:18-20 and we saw that the mission of the church is to make disciples not just decisions. You can listen to it here or watch it here
We say that the it is God’s grace that he calls us to make disciples because as we follow Jesus, not only are we saved from the punishment of sin but we are now liberated to untangle the knots our sins make in our life!
In order to disciple the found we saw that it requires: 1) teaching, 2) the church, 3) the individual, 4) time, 5) Jesus!
Remember, we do not make disciples on our own, Jesus said, “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Let us go, seek the lost, preach the gospel, and then disciple the found!

It is a new Cafe/Music store in Rydalmere run by two Christians! They have a mini stage set up and room for 50 people, there is a courtyard outside for kids work, and it is nice set up!

More details to come by the end of the week!
We so value gathering in person that, although this inconvenient and disruptive, it is our aim to still gather whilst we can!
Please let me know if you have any ideas/concerns/thoughts about how we go about this!
Life Groups are BACK this week! Each group will have a Zoom in option available. Your group leader will send you a link and direct as to what time the Zoom will go live. Please be praying for the Burnett’s in particular as they start their group!
What a joy it was to regather physically as a church on Sunday at Fox Valley! It wasn’t what we planned or hoped for but it was still a blessing! I want to say a big thank you to all who helped pull it off at such short notice! We missed all of you who couldn’t make it as well. The main idea was: In order to be on mission we need to know the power of the gospel to save lives
We looked at Romans 1:16-17
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.””
And we saw three main points: 1. Why we need saving. 2. How we are saved. 3. What this salvation means. The sermon will be posted online soon if you missed it.

This Sunday is our long awaited ‘Reunion Service’! We cannot wait to see you all in person again, to worship together, pray together, take the Lord’s Supper together, and sit under preaching together!
BUT…I have some bad bad news! Tara has suspended all outside groups from coming in to use their facilities. And so, for the foreseeable future we are without a Sunday venue.
BUT…I have some good news! By God’s grace we can STILL gather this Sunday in person!
How? We are going back to where we came from, Sovereign Grace Church Sydney, at the Fox Valley Community Centre! Our sending church is graciously letting us come in-between their services so that we can still gather while the Covid restrictions are open. Here are the details:
TIME: 1:30PM
LOCATION: Fox Valley Community Centre, 183a Fox Valley Road, Wahroonga.
COVID SAFETY: We will be following the Government guidelines, you know the routine by now!
Wash hands regularly
Maintain social distancing
Stay at home if unwell
Keep record of those in attendance
SG Kids: WILL be happening but it will be inside! Please BYO drink bottles and do not bring in any food.
SEATING: Our seating will be spread out, you may only sit next to people in your household, so please sit accordingly.
COMMUNION: We will be having our first communion together in 4 months, so prepare your hearts for that!
COFFEE: There will be no hospitality, sorry guys! If you need a coffee go to Karoo and Co down the road before church.
INVITE: It’s a long shot…but please feel free to invite friends and guests
CAN’T MAKE IT? We will Live Streaming via facebook live!
I cannot wait to see you all despite the weird circumstances
PS. By God’s grace we do have the possibility of TWO other local venues in the mix so that we can continue to do an afternoon service in person. Please pray and stay tuned.
