It is our hope that this will help parents in their efforts to engage their children in conversations about their learning at SG Kids, to expound upon and apply that learning in their own homes, and perhaps even to prepare their child before Sunday for the story that will be taught.

If you're not a parent, I encourage you to check out the SG Kids Spot each week. It may be a handy piece of background knowledge to spark up a conversation after church with one of our children. They love chatting to the adults of our church and it would be of great benefit for them to see you take an interest in what they're learning about in kids church.

May this weekly, small, colourful square be a blessing to you as you carry out God's calling to teach His Word to the next generation.

The 31st of October (today!) has something way better than candy and costumes in store. It’s Reformation Day!

Below are a few resources to help each of us understand, appreciate, and thank God for the Protestant Reformation.

• The History of the Reformation by R.C. Sproul — an article giving you a historical overview of the Reformation.

• The Very Heart of the Reformation by R.C. Sproul — this article answers the question: what controversy sparked the Reformation?

• The Story of Martin Luther — a short, kid-friendly animated film surveying the life of Martin Luther.

• Luther: The Life and Legacy of the German Reformer — a full documentary on Luther produced by Ligonier.

• Why Do We Celebrate the Protestant Reformation? by John Piper at Desiring God — Piper’s 5 God-centered reasons he rejoices in the Reformation.

We will be starting a Mission Book Club, going through the book “Mere Evangelism” by Randy Newman over a course of 3 weeks.

The 7th Issue of the Sovereign Grace Journal has recently been released. The articles, written by pastors from Sovereign Grace Churches around the world, centre around the topic of Church Partnership, which is one of Sovereign Grace Church’s Seven Shared Values.

Our Pastor, Riley Spring, has contributed to the journal with an article titled: “What Does Partnership Mean for Church Members?”

Along with all our SG Philippines visitors, we will also have Dave Taylor, Pastor of our sister Church Sovereign Grace Church Wahroonga joining us to preach for us! Dave also serves on the SGC Leadership Team looking after Global Missions. What a joy to have Dave , Emma and the family with us!
