Guys Growth Groups are on this week! Your LG leaders will let you know all the details.
We had such a wonderful time away last weekend at our Together ‘23 Retreat! It was so great to see our family of churches come together to hear from God’s word, worship and fellowship as one body, united by our love for Christ! The theme for the weekend was: Zealous for the Name of Christ which gave us an opportunity to hear about and think through God’s call on His people: “Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in Spirit, serve the Lord.” (Romans 12:11)
We had Pastors Riley Spring, Mark Prater and Brendan Willis faithfully teach us on this topic and we were challenged to continue to diligently stoke the fire of zeal for Christ by the power of His Spirit!
You can find their messages here:

We are so thankful to the Lord for our family of churches and the sweet time away that we got to enjoy…together!
As you would’ve seen in our last blog newsletter, we are kicking off our new sermon series on the book of Romans this Sunday.
If you'd like to get a head start on the series, we recommend having a go of reading through the book in it's entirety in the lead-up to Sunday. We hope that it blesses you!
We had a great weekend away as a family of churches with Sovereign Grace Church Sydney at our Together ‘23 Retreat. It was a wonderful time filled with great teaching, fellowship and ministry, where we got to see and hear what it looks like to be Zealous for the Name of Christ.
The talks from the weekend are now officially up on our Podcast channel and our Website, so if you missed any or would like to listen to them again, you can find them here:

We hope and pray that you were blessed by our time away together!
This Sunday after service, we will be having our biannual Church Family Meeting, which we call “Envision”. This is a chance for Riley and different key leaders to give the church updates on how things have been going (ministries and finances) and to give you a vision for the rest of the year.
The details are as follows:
Date: THIS SUNDAY, 6th of August
Time: 12-2:30pm (Lunch after service, followed by the Envision meeting)
There will be a supervised movie on for the kids downstairs during the meeting.
Please make this a priority as there will be important updates that won’t be repeated!
We’re excited to be kicking off our new sermon series this week on the book of Romans! Please be praying for Riley and our church as we walk through this book together - that the Lord would work powerfully through the preaching of His word.
We will be holding a Mission Prayer Hour at the same time as Alpha on Sunday to pray for the course and for missions in general. We would love for anyone and everyone to come along to join us in this endeavour to commit our requests to God, knowing that unless He builds the house, we labour in vain! (Psalm 127:1)
WHAT: Mission Prayer Meeting - Join us to pray for Alpha, Parramatta & the Nations
WHEN: 7-8pm This Sunday, 30th July
WHERE: SG Parra (17 Iron Street, North Parramatta)
G2G will be on this Sunday from 4-6pm.
There will be a games and youth talk running for the kids alongside a training session for parents. This will be a valuable opportunity for discipleship of both groups.
All parents (not just G2G parents) are invited to join the training session. However, please be mindful that there will not be supervision provided for younger siblings or children outside of the G2G age group (years 3-8).
We look forward to seeing you there.
Life Groups are back this week! Life Groups are so vital for us as a Church as they allow us to take the joy of Sunday and work out in smaller communities where we can know each other more deeply and help each other out more personally.
As much as is possible, it’s our aim for every member to attend Life Group or Growth Group, every time it’s on! This isn’t a rule or a new law, rather, we’d love that these special times go in our calendars first because they’re so good and so vital for our growth AND they are a key way we each play a part in serving each other in the church.
For some, this is made difficult because of shift work, travel, or baby sitting needs. To help you, we’ve attached the Term 3 Schedule below so that you can look ahead to when your group is on and organise your calendar/sitting around that if possible.
It’s so great when the most amount of people can be regularly be at group where possible!
I hope Life Groups and Growth Groups bless you once again this term!
Due to the Together ‘23 Retreat being on this weekend, there will be no service at our Iron St location this Sunday. Instead, we will be holding our Sunday gathering up at the Collaroy Centre to round out our weekend together. If you’d like to come along and join us for this, please contact Richard at richard@sgparra.org.au.
