SG Kids Workers Night

SG Kids is an integral part of our church’s life and it wouldn’t be possible without the countless volunteers who give up their time, energy and resources to serve the next generation!

Part of what makes this all possible are our biannual training nights - the next of which is coming up on Thursday, 13th of July.

If you serve in SG Kids, please lock in this date for our second kids workers training night of the year.
When: 7:30PM, Thursday 13th July
Where: Sovereign Grace Church Parramatta (27 Iron St, North Parramatta)

Attendance at these nights is a crucial part of serving in kids, so please make it a priority to be there. Thankyou!

No 5 Minute Break

Just a reminder that these next few weeks, we’re going to trial not having our usual ‘5 Minute Break’.

We will go straight into the sermon from the announcements. The school age children will still head out at the end of the announcements. So please ensure you sign your children in before the service.

Life Groups Are On This Week

Life Groups are on this week! This will be the last meeting for the term, followed by a two week break.

Life Groups are so vital for us as a Church as they allow us to take the joy of Sunday and work out in smaller communities where we can know each other more deeply and help each other out more personally. We hope that this time together with your group blesses you!

Your LG leaders will send you all the information you need for this week.

Book Recommendation - Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy by Mark Vroegop

Much of the new sermon series will be based on this book “Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy - Discovering the Grace of Lament” by Mark Vroegop which is now available in our bookshop located in the church foyer. There are limited copies, so get in quick if you’d like to purchase one! Here is the book’s blurb for a better understanding of its contents:

Where do you turn when the dark clouds of pain, suffering, and loss roll into your life? In a broken world, difficult trials can lead quickly to discouragement and despair-even for Christians. But the Bible sets forth an oft-neglected practice for dealing with such trials: lament. To lament is to turn to God in honest, desperate prayer, giving voice to the reality of our emotions-as intense and tumultuous as they may be. Ultimately, lament is an expression of faith in the God who hears our cries and responds with mercy and grace. Drawing on examples from the Bible and his own story of loss, pastor Mark Vroegop walks through steps of lament (Turn, Complain, Ask, and Trust) to show what lament is, why it is important, and how to enter into it-helping readers learn to live between the poles of God's goodness and a hard life.

Alpha New Opportunity

It’s been a joy to hear of how many people have stepped out in faith to invite their family and friends to do Alpha, a simple conversational video series that helps you explore life, faith and meaning.

In the end it didn’t work out to do in the Life Group slot for those who were interested.

But there are a couple of people who will do Alpha on Sunday evening with Ian and Sammy Commerford at their place in Dundas.

And there is room for your friend to go too! So if you have someone you know that couldn’t make midweek or wasn’t yet ready…now may be a good chance to invite them along.

It is starting in two Sundays time. Contact Richard for more details and please be praying!

G2G is on this Sunday!

G2G will be on this Sunday at 4PM.

This week, we will be having a fire night at the Song’s place. Parent and siblings of G2G are also invited! There will be singing, marshmallows and some sharing from the parents.

Given it’s a campfire night, it will run a little later, finishing at 7:30.

We look forward to seeing you there!
