Location: JBrewers / Gsus4 Music - 267 Victoria Rd, Rydalmere NSW 2116

Time: 3pm

More details to come by the end of the week!

We so value gathering in person that, although this inconvenient and disruptive, it is our aim to still gather whilst we can!

Please let me know if you have any ideas/concerns/thoughts about how we go about this!

Sunday Recap: Reunion Service!
relaunch

What a joy it was to regather physically as a church on Sunday at Fox Valley! It wasn’t what we planned or hoped for but it was still a blessing! I want to say a big thank you to all who helped pull it off at such short notice! We missed all of you who couldn’t make it as well. The main idea was: In order to be on mission we need to know the power of the gospel to save lives

We looked at Romans 1:16-17

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.””

And we saw three main points: 1. Why we need saving. 2. How we are saved. 3. What this salvation means. The sermon will be posted online soon if you missed it.

Here is a link to the FB live service (though there are some technical issues)

VENUE + TIME CHANGE for Sunday's Reunion Service! (VIDEO)
change of venue and time

To watch video click here!

This Sunday is our long awaited ‘Reunion Service’! We cannot wait to see you all in person again, to worship together, pray together, take the Lord’s Supper together, and sit under preaching together!

BUT…I have some bad bad news! Tara has suspended all outside groups from coming in to use their facilities. And so, for the foreseeable future we are without a Sunday venue.

BUT…I have some good news! By God’s grace we can STILL gather this Sunday in person!

How? We are going back to where we came from, Sovereign Grace Church Sydney, at the Fox Valley Community Centre! Our sending church is graciously letting us come in-between their services so that we can still gather while the Covid restrictions are open. Here are the details:

TIME: 1:30PM

LOCATION: Fox Valley Community Centre, 183a Fox Valley Road, Wahroonga.

COVID SAFETY: We will be following the Government guidelines, you know the routine by now!

  • Wash hands regularly

  • Maintain social distancing

  • Stay at home if unwell

  • Keep record of those in attendance

SG Kids: WILL be happening but it will be inside! Please BYO drink bottles and do not bring in any food.

SEATING: Our seating will be spread out, you may only sit next to people in your household, so please sit accordingly.

COMMUNION: We will be having our first communion together in 4 months, so prepare your hearts for that!

COFFEE: There will be no hospitality, sorry guys! If you need a coffee go to Karoo and Co down the road before church.

INVITE: It’s a long shot…but please feel free to invite friends and guests

CAN’T MAKE IT? We will Live Streaming via facebook live!

I cannot wait to see you all despite the weird circumstances

PS. By God’s grace we do have the possibility of TWO other local venues in the mix so that we can continue to do an afternoon service in person. Please pray and stay tuned.

How Do We Worship Without Singing?
20200125_222205000_iOS.jpg

Repost (with edits) from Glen Jones

As we start gathering again, one of the most obvious things that will be different from pre-COVID gatherings is that we are “avoiding communal singing” in line with our government’s recommendations.

The idea of gathering as a church and NOT singing will likely give a wide range of emotional responses. But the Lord hasn’t left us without options. His Word is full of instructions on how we can appropriately respond to Him in worship with our bodies.

Romans 12:1 says

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

Remember, the MOST important part of our worship is not our volume or expression but our hearts. Jesus strongly rebuked the Pharisees for outward expression with inward deadness. Let that NOT characterize us as we gather! May our inward love of the Lord overflow into outward expressions!

8 “‘This people honors me with their lips,

but their heart is far from me;

9  in vain do they worship me,

teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”

So, let me encourage you to consider a few ways the Lord’s given us to magnify our enjoyment of Him:

LIFTING HANDS

“So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.” - Psalm 63:4

“I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling” - 1 Timothy 2:8

STANDING

“You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify him, and stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel!” - Psalm 22:23

BOWING & KNEELING

“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!”  - Psalm 95:6

DANCING

“Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!” - Psalm 149:3

CLAPPING

Clap your hands, all peoples!” - Psalm 47:1

SHOUTING

Shout to God with loud songs of joy!” - Psalm 47:1
